Our Story

The soft glow of Leone's golden beeswax has been regarded by generations of the European elite for its delicate craftsmanship that is hand-poured into every candle. The founder, Alyse Fratto, was introduced to the family craft by her great aunt, Rosa Leone. During a summer apprenticeship in San Remo, Italy, she immersed herself in the rituals of her family's heritage of curating candles for European nobility. She mastered the techniques passed down through her lineage and made it her mission to share with the world the fruits of her family's labor. The vision that became what Leone is today fueled Alyse to make sure the world could have a chance to appreciate what was once europe's best kept secret.

QUALITY & CRAFTSMANSHIP
Each one of our expertly crafted candles and fragrances are individually handmade by artisans using only the finest organic beeswax, exotic fragrances and essential oils from around the world. Our candles are hand-poured with extreme care, and are housed in our signature shaped Italian marble and hand-blown glass vessels making each one truly unique.


RECLAIMED MATERIALS
Ageless and sustainable, each hand-blown glass candle vessel contains 70% reclaimed glass. Our marble candle vessels are hand-carved, in Italy, by local artisans. We designed our vessels with the intent of being reused and repurposed for a life after the candle has burned out. All of our paper packaging is eco-conscious and 100% recyclable and reusable. We are proud to say that our packaging partner donates a portion of all proceeds to One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization working to reforest the globe.


CLEAN BURNING
Unlike other candles which are made from either paraffin wax, which is petroleum based or soy wax, which is often made from genetically modified soy crops, our candles are pure beeswax, non-toxic and free from artificial colorants. Our dedication to the environment doesn’t stop at just burning harmless beeswax, but is taken to another level with our 100%, pure cotton, lead-free wicks that will ensure you are burning cleanly and brightly.


ETHICAL BEESWAX
Our organic beeswax comes from an ethical, traceable source in New Zealand. In order to guarantee that all our products are harvested sustainably, we decided to work with beekeepers who follow strict guidelines when it comes to bee management and hive placement, as well as the humane treatment of the bees.


USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC
Our beeswax is USDA certified organic. Certified organic beeswax is, by definition, associated with better and more sustainable beekeeping practices.


CRUELTY FREE
All of our fragrances and candles are hypoallergenic, free from harsh chemicals and phthalate-free. Our materials are both gluten-free and cruelty-free and never tested on animals.
